Michael D. Peacock, CEO & President
Hello, I’m Michael D. Peacock , CEO & President of Southwest Business Development Consultants, LLC. My entire business life has been dedicated to serving American Indian & Minority-owned businesses. My passion is to be an inspiration, role model and mentor to assist our local communities in building self-sufficiency and empowerment. Mr. Peacock’s commitment to the betterment of American Indian & minority communities is evidenced through the motto that he personally created, which is “Prepare For Success”. Mr. Peacock is an enrolled tribal member of the Pueblo of Laguna (New Mexico) along with Seneca/Mohawk tribal descent. He possesses a B.B.A. Degree from the College of Santa Fe with concentrations in Accounting and Business Management. Mr. Peacock is also a 2008 Graduate of Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth – Building a High-Performing Minority Business – MBDA Partnership Program.
Mr. Peacock possesses over 30 years of experience in providing comprehensive business, community, and economic development services to individuals, businesses, organizations and tribes throughout New Mexico and the United States through his past and current affiliations with the New Mexico Native American Business Development Center and the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development – Native American Business Consultant Program, Management Consulting Services Program and Marketing & Procurement Services Program.
In addition, Mr. Peacock has served over the years on numerous boards, associations and committees throughout Indian Country to include: Laguna Commercial Enterprise Board of Directors, San Ildefonso Pueblo Enterprise Corporation Board of Directors, Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute Business Advisory Member, Native American Finance Officers Association Member, American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico Board of Directors, University of New Mexico-Institute of Public Law-Project Change Fair Lending Center Advisory Member, Northwest New Mexico Community Development Corporation – Micro Enterprise Lending Team Advisory Member, and the UNM – Anderson School of Management, American Indian Business Association Mentor/Protége Program.
Mr. Peacock served as Executive Director of the New Mexico Native American Business Enterprise Center from 1991-2001 and from 2007-2018, Mr. Peacock possessed a role as the contracted Associate Director for the MBDA Business Center (American Indian/Alaska Native Program), which was funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce-Minority Business Development Agency and operated by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico.
Mr. Peacock assisted MBDA Business Center Clients in securing over $683,050,028 Million Dollars of Awarded Contracts & Financial Transactions, which has resulted in over 3,020 new jobs created and/or retained. Mr. Peacock’s exemplary performance resulted in the MBDA Business Center attaining the elite “THE CENTURY CLUB AWARD” each year since 2007, which was awarded to any of the 40 national MBDA Business Center funded centers achieving a cumulative quantitative goal performance of 100 % and over. The AICCNM recognized an outstanding Return on Investment from Mr. Peacock over 11 years of service.
Darla M. Jones, Project Manager
Darla M. Jones serves as the Project Manager for the Four Winds Diversified Project and Southwest Business Development Consultants. Her main role is overseeing the projects administrative and reporting functions, engaging new clients, provide access to capital, resources and new markets for American Indian, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian & Minority-owned businesses located in the Southwest rural reservation lands and local communities. Ms. Jones’ focus is promoting entrepreneurship, small business training & coaching, assessment & certification services for Federal set- aside programs. Ms. Jones Directs, Edits & Produces the Four Winds Diversified Project Virtual Success Stories and client content.
Darla has co-owned a chauffeur transportation company and possesses eight years of experience as a Business Consultant with the New Mexico Native American Business Enterprise Center Minority Business Development Agency. She has served as a board member for the NM Diversity Leadership Council and is an avid volunteer for the Albuquerque Public School Community Diners. Ms. Jones is Dine and Iroquois decent and is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Mr. Pedro possess over 18 years’ experience in providing comprehensive business and economic development services and training to individuals, minority and women-owned business, our Native youth, Native American Tribes and Tribal Organizations in New Mexico and across the United States through past affiliations with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Native American Business Development Center Network.

Russell F. Pedro, President & CEO of Data Management of New Mexico, LLC. is a member of the Pueblo of Laguna, one of the 19 Pueblo Tribes of New Mexico. Russell is passionate about creating jobs and opportunities by helping our Native Youth, minority and Native-owned small businesses, Tribes and Tribal Organizations. Achieving this, by identifying resources and applying valuable business expertise towards the accomplishment of promoting Native American and minority business, while driving community, tourism and economic development initiatives. Russell was the recipient of the Martin Olsen Memorial Scholarship from the Robert O. Anderson School of Management and the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship from the University of New Mexico (UNM), where he concentrated in Entrepreneurial Studies and Travel Tourism Management. In, 2008 he received a Professional Certificate, from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth – Minority Business Program.
Mr. Pedro possess over 17 years’ experience in providing comprehensive business and economic development services and training to individuals, minority and women-owned business, our Native youth, Native American Tribes and Tribal Organizations in New Mexico and across the United States through past affiliations with the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Native American Business Development Center Network, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED), the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico (AICCNM), the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) and Data Management Group, LLC. All organizations promote community, tourism, job creation and economic development.
